The RAISE Institute (Resources for Advancing Inquiry Standards and Effectiveness) is a collaborative not-for-profit education and training initiative to strengthen and professionalize supply chain monitoring and change management.
The RAISE Institute was founded to ensure that standards in the practice of corporate social responsibility, protection of labor rights, and implementation of social compliance are credible. Our vision is to provide a way for civil society practitioners to participate in setting meaningful standards for the process, policies, and delivery of independent workplace social monitoring, remediation, and sustainable performance improvement.
The RAISE Institute provides training programs and certification for practitioners who seek to improve social protection systems and labor rights at the factory and corporate levels.

CREA, a US-based not-for-profit organization, brings more than a decade of CSR experience in monitoring and education to RAISE. With the foundational work of the Independent Monitoring Working Group (IMWG), CREA set up the first independent monitoring anywhere in the world. CREA’s projects require collaborative standards setting, facilitation, and education of multi-stakeholder constituencies as well as the creation of education and management tools. CREA has worked with companies in a spectrum of industries to strengthen their codes, deepen their compliance systems, and effectively analyze the results of audits to create on-going learning feedback processes.
CREA facilitates analysis of human, social, and economic policies from the perspective of their effects on human lives. CREA’S signature service is the Purchasing Power Index and offers CREA Focus, corporate responsibility research services, educational programs in economic justice and systemic analysis. www.crea-inc.org

GMIES (Grupo de Monitoreo Independiente de El Salvador) is a research and training organization based in El Salvador that was one of the first civil society organizations to conduct independent monitoring dedicated to protecting worker rights.
ASK (Association for Stimulating Know-how) is a monitoring and training organization based in Delhi, India, that partners on development and CSR initiatives with NGOs, CBOs and corporations throughout South Asia and Southeast Asia.
Verité Southeast Asia is an independent NGO based in Manila, Philippines, that specializes in CSR program building at the brand and factory levels and capability building of all critical actors in Code implementation throughout supply chains.
Sheva Nari O Shishu Kallyan Kendra, an NGO founded in 1991 and based in Bangladesh, devotes its resources to women’s development. Sheva advances workers’ welfare through training, social auditing and community education. Sheva’s model is to engage poor women and stakeholders such as microcredit and factory organizations in order to assist them in becoming partners in social development.
Engaged is a Belgium-based NGO that conducts social monitoring, training, remediation facilitation and engagement of workers in multiple regions. |
